What's included
A real putting green isn't just short turf — the base underneath is shaped with actual breaks and contours before anything gets installed, so the ball moves the way it would on a real green instead of just rolling straight. We grade the base by hand to build in slope and undulation sized to the space.
The turf itself is a shorter, denser pile than standard lawn turf, built for a consistent, true roll, usually installed over a cushioned underlayment for a more realistic feel underfoot. Cups and collars are set into the grade wherever the space allows for real practice, not just a decorative green.
Surrounding fringe or standard lawn turf can be blended in around the green itself so it reads as a finished part of the backyard, not a separate feature bolted on.
How it works
Step by step, here's what actually happens on site:
- 1Walk the space and talk through size, number of cups, and how much break and contour the yard can support.
- 2Shape the base by hand to build in the breaks before compacting.
- 3Install the putting turf and any surrounding fringe or lawn turf, then set cups and collars.
- 4Walk the finished green with you and confirm the roll plays the way you want.
